Miami, FL – December 31, 2020 – This winter, COTE, one of New York’s most coveted reservations and America’s first Korean steakhouse, will open its doors at the entrance of the Miami Design District located on the corner of 39th Street and 2nd Avenue. Conceptualized by proprietor and hospitality visionnaire Simon Kim, COTE’s South Florida expansion will reflect the beloved spirit behind their acclaimed New York-based flagship while taking cues from the Design District’s innovative blend of luxury and cutting- edge culture. The neighborhood is a perfect home for the 5,892-square-foot restaurant to showcase their world- class ingredients, impeccable service, and show-stopping beverage program amidst a buzzy, convivial atmosphere — a distinct methodology that has earned COTE several James Beard Award nominations and a Michelin-star each year since opening (three consecutive years), the only star awarded to a Korean steakhouse in the world.

Designed by acclaimed architecture studio MNDPC, the sleek, 100-plus seat dining room will offer its signature interactive experience, where each table is inlaid with bespoke, state-of-the-art charcoal grills for cuts to be cooked to perfection by COTE’s experienced servers. The smokeless grills are verified by safety certification programs world-wide and are known for ventilating air 6.6 times more frequently per hour compared to a standard restaurant. The space will include swanky design details, including blue chip modern art pieces; an oval- shaped bar celebrated in New York for its “see and be seen” allure; and a red light dry-aging room. There will be two private dining spaces: the ultra-exclusive Simon’s Room and the PK Room, an ode to developer T.V. Moore (nicknamed the “Pineapple King”), who turned his pineapple farm in the 1920s into the neighborhood known today as the Design District.

In honor of the highly-anticipated opening of COTE Miami, Simon Kim hosted an intimate New Year’s Eve dinner with close friends in the celebrated restaurant’s newest outpost unveiling next month in Miami’s Design District. The New York City-based Korean steakhouse concept welcomed multi-platinum, hip-hop legend Nas who performed live while guests indulged on the coveted Michelin-starred dishes including Ossetra caviar toast, Perigord truffle canapés, Japanese A5 wagyu and their show-stopping beverage program. All guests were rapid-tested for COVID-19 before they were permitted to enter the restaurant.
