The Deck at Island Gardens’ Season Launch Benefits Global Empowerment Mission’s Bahamas Relief Efforts

Miami, FL – October 19, 2019 – The Deck at Island Gardens turned South Beach into a Bahamian celebration as they held their season launch. The waterfront spot brought out all the stops – including a Bahamian Junkanoo band as they held the festivities to honor Global Empowerment Mission’s ongoing relief efforts in the Bahamas. Global Empowerment Mission has been making weekly trips to various places throughout the country since it was hit by Hurricane Dorian in September. The organization is currently in it’s “phase two” of its efforts, where they are transporting construction materials and supplies so Bahamians can begin the repairing and rebuilding process. To date, the organization has delivered more than 1,000,000 pounds of supplies via Mega Yacht Global, a 230 ft vessel, and Sea Shepard, a former U.S. Coast Guard cutter. GEM has also evacuated 859 people via their partnership with Tropic Ocean Airways and Delta.
