Miami, FL – March 14, 2025 – Dennis Scholl turns a lifetime of collecting into art in his first U.S. solo exhibition, “The Melody Haunts My Reverie”, at Piero Atchugarry Gallery.
As a child, Scholl meticulously collected presidential bottle caps, an early sign of his deep passion for acquiring meaningful objects. Decades later, after years as an art patron and collector, he has transformed his love for curation into an artistic practice, using found materials to construct evocative assemblages.
His debut U.S. solo show explores themes of nostalgia and collective memory through historical artifacts, including a triptych centered on the JFK assassination. Scholl’s process is rooted in discovery, scouring auctions for objects that resonate with cultural significance. Inspired by conceptual artist Félix González-Torres, his work invites viewers to reflect on personal and shared histories.
With a background in film and arts philanthropy, Scholl now dedicates himself fully to art, embracing his role as an emerging artist with a mature, deeply reflective body of work.
