Miami, FL – March 3, 2025 – Acclaimed Israeli chef Michael Solomonov, a five-time James Beard Award winner, is set to open AVIV South Beach at 1 Hotel South Beach on March 14.
The highly anticipated restaurant, designed by Post Company, will feature 132 indoor and outdoor seats along with a private dining space. Inspired by Solomonov’s 17 years at Philadelphia’s renowned Zahav, Aviv’s menu will blend Israeli flavors with Miami’s local influences, incorporating Caribbean touches like guava-marinated chicken and South Florida fish with sea bean tzatziki.
Solomonov and his business partner Steve Cook believe Miami’s climate and cultural energy mirror Tel Aviv’s, making it the perfect location for Aviv. The menu will highlight freshly baked Yemenite flatbread, creamy hummus, haloumi baklava, and ribeye shishlik, complemented by inventive cocktails like the spicy Zhoug margarita.
As Solomonov sees it, Miami’s food scene has evolved dramatically—perhaps even becoming the most exciting in the country.
