WRE News: Construction Begins on Vibrant South Beach Pedestrian Bridge

Miami Beach, FL – January 15, 2025 – A vibrant new pedestrian bridge is set to transform the entrance to South Beach: Construction has begun on “Walking In, Along and Under the Colors,” a striking bridge designed by French artist Daniel Buren.

The bridge will connect the South of Fifth baywalk to a newly completed park, both of which are part of the development linked to the towering Five Park project.

Private partners are working with City of Miami Bech on the project alongside Terra and GFO Investments as part of the Five Park Miami Beach project, which delivered Canopy Park to the community in 2022 and Miami Beach’s newest luxury tower at the end of 2024.

The project kicks off with temporary construction fencing and utility relocations on Fifth Street, followed by excavation for the bridge’s foundations in the coming months.

Completion is expected by summer or fall of 2026.
