Miami, FL – December 2, 2024 – YoungArts launched Miami Art Week last night with its annual private dinner on the YoungArts Plaza, co-hosted by YoungArts Board Chair Sarah Arison and MacArthur-winning dancer, choreographer, and multidisciplinary artist Ralph Lemon.
Generously supported by MoMA PS1, Anthropologie, and 7G Group, the evening began with cocktails and a chance to explore artist studios featuring works by Alberto Checa, Priscilla Aleman, Dani Amaro, and Nina Osoria Ahmadi in the YoungArts Gallery. Guests also experienced two video installations by Ralph Lemon: “Chorus (Oculus #2)” and “Otha Turner’s Final Picnic”, displayed in the YoungArts Jewel Box.
The event continued with a three-course dinner served on the plaza, where the illuminated Jewel Box added to the vibrant Miami skyline. Attendees included notable figures such as Connie Butler, Joé Parlá, Kennedy Yanko, Sophia Cohen, Germane Barnes, Bernardo Fort-Brescia, Simon Haas and Nikolai Haas, Tarell A. McCraney, Hans Ulrich Obrist, Anne Pasternak, Lee Quinones, Scott Rothkopf, and Thor Shannon, among others.
