Miami, FL – December 18, 2024 – In the spirit of the holidays, influencer, podcaster, and all-around social media superstar Alix Earle has teamed up with Major Food Group and the Caesar-Iglesias Family Foundation (C-IFF) to give back to local communities with “Meals in Heels”.

“Honestly, I wanted to find a way to give back that felt personal and impactful,” shares Earle. “Writing checks and supporting from the sidelines can be instrumentally helpful, but I felt like I could do more.”

The event series brings together friends and community members in Miami to prepare and package meals for underserved populations, inspiring others to give back. Powered by the Caesar-Iglesias Family Foundation and supported by Major Food Group’s culinary team, these events have already made a significant impact in surrounding communities.

“I wouldn’t be where I am today without the community around me. I have so much love for Miami and the people here – this city has given me so much,” Earle continues. “Giving back was never a question for me; it’s just part of who I am.”

The most recent holiday edition took place last night at HaSalon Miami, with Alix and her team preparing over 2,000 meals for local food shelters and Carbone Fine Food contributing sauce for the main course. “When I first shared the idea with Mario Carbone, he didn’t even let me finish before saying, ‘Whatever you need, we’re here.’”

“Meals in Heels” continues to grow, combining generosity with community connection to make a meaningful impact. “My hope is that Meals in Heels becomes a movement that encourages community, connection, and generosity.”

These nights are about reminding us to slow down, be grateful for what we have, and find ways to lift up others who might not be as fortunate. It’s about showing up, together, and creating a real impact.

WRE: What motivated you to start Meals in Heels?

Alix Earle: Honestly, I wanted to find a way to give back that felt personal and impactful. Writing checks and supporting from the sidelines can be instrumentally helpful, but I felt like I could do more. Growing up, my family always made it a priority to help others, and encouraged from a young age that we do this in person. So, I’ve been lucky enough to experience firsthand how rewarding it is to make a real difference. I wanted to bring my friends into that experience, to create something meaningful that would inspire them to give back too – whether here in Miami or in their own ways elsewhere.

WRE: What’s the mission behind Meals in Heels?

AE: It’s so much bigger than just feeding people – although that’s a huge part of it. My hope is that Meals in Heels becomes a movement that encourages community, connection, and generosity. These nights are about reminding us to slow down, be grateful for what we have, and find ways to lift up others who might not be as fortunate. It’s about showing up, together, and creating a real impact.

WRE: Why did you choose to partner with the Caesar-Iglesias Family Foundation (C-IFF)?

AE: I was introduced to Mark Caesar, who’s been deeply involved in building charitable organizations for years while also building quite the impressive career for himself – which is seen all over Miami. I loved what they were doing locally and felt confident that they had the connections to reach the people who need help most. The Iglesias Family Foundation just gets it and they are a reputable 501-c3. They know this community inside and out and, more importantly, they know how to get things done. Their motto is “bring joy” and I feel lucky that we’ve been able to bring joy to so many already, together.

Honestly, the best part of this whole experience, aside from helping others in an impactful way, has been encouraging my friends and others in Miami to step up and do the same.

WRE: How did the collaboration with Major Food Group come together?

AE: I’ve been lucky enough to see how much Major Food Group does behind the scenes – and trust me, they don’t publicize half of it. They’re unbelievably generous. When I first shared the idea with Mario Carbone, he didn’t even let me finish before saying, “Whatever you need, we’re here.” They’ve offered us their kitchens, restaurant spaces, and even covered our supplies. Their team has volunteered their time to help prep, cook, and organize. Plus, they already had an incredible relationship with the Caesar Iglesias Family Foundation, so the collaboration just felt meant to be.

WRE: Why is giving back to the community so important to you?

AE: I wouldn’t be where I am today without the community around me. I have so much love for Miami and the people here – this city has given me so much. Giving back was never a question for me; it’s just part of who I am. And honestly, the best part of this whole experience, aside from helping others in an impactful way, has been encouraging my friends and others in Miami to step up and do the same. It’s amazing what we can accomplish when we come together.

WRE: What’s next for Meals in Heels?

AE: We’re already on our third event, and each one has gotten bigger – more meals, more volunteers, more impact. I want to keep scaling this monthly in Miami and building a community of people willing to give up an evening to help others. Long term? Who knows, the help needed is endless, really. I’d love to do more than just meals – maybe help fund kitchens and shelters regularly or support kids with school supplies and extracurriculars. There’s so much to do, and this is just my small part in an effort to start helping more.
