Launching the Institute for Freedom in the Americas with Miami Dade College

Miami, FL – October 16, 2024 – Miami Dade College has launched the Institute for Freedom in the Americas, a major initiative to shape the next generation of policymakers.

The announcement was made at the IX Presidential Dialogue last night, an annual forum focused on geopolitical and social challenges in the Western Hemisphere. The new Institute aims to promote economic and individual freedoms, with a special emphasis on Latin America and the Caribbean. It will offer leadership development, policy research, and civic education programs to support the cause of freedom and democracy across the region.

As part of its launch, the Institute is now accepting applications for its inaugural class of Fellows. The prestigious year-long Fellowship program is designed to engage established leaders in strengthening democratic resilience and economic freedom, with interactive seminars and mentoring from leading scholars and policymakers.
