Miami, FL – October 19, 2024 – Dina Mitrani Gallery recently hosted a pop-up exhibition featuring the captivating photography of Peggy Levison Nolan, as part of the Miami Design District’s Art in the District cultural program. The exhibition showcased both color and black-and-white images spanning from the 1980s to the present, celebrating the release of her book Juggling Is Easy and her earlier monograph, Real Pictures: Tales of a Badass Grandma. It coincided with Nolan’s involvement in the Shared Documentary Narratives exhibition at History Miami Museum, and included a reception and book signing on Saturday, October 26th, during the WOPHA Congress.
Nolan’s work beautifully captured the ordinary moments of family life, illuminating the beauty in everyday scenes. Her images reflected intimate moments with her children and grandchildren, showcasing the evolution of her artistry from black and white to vibrant color. With her work held in prestigious collections and featured in major publications, Nolan continues to influence the photography community. The exhibition was a celebration of her artistry and legacy.
