Miami, FL – September 10, 2024 –The Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic presented its new luxury destinations at an exclusive gala held in the city of Miami, attended by dozens of North American, European and Latin American investors.
The event, headed by Minister David Collado, was held at the iconic Vizcaya Museum and brought together top executives from airlines, luxury hotel chains and investment funds from across the continent, where the Dominican Republic’s position as a leading luxury tourism destination in the Caribbean was reaffirmed.
The Ministry of Tourism also unveiled new conceptual identities promoting Dominican Republic’s luxury destinations, including Miches, Samaná, Costa del Ámbar, among others.
During the event, the Minister presented Alejandro Bernal, President and CEO of the Four Seasons, a gift made of larimar, a rare gemstone found only in the Dominican Republic. The Four Seasons brand will be entering the Dominican Republic market in 2026 when the brand opens Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia, a 60-acre luxury destination situated along the Playa Esmeralda beachfront.
Dominican and multiple Grammy-award winning singer, songwriter Juan Luis Guerra performed 10 of his hit songs in front of a crowd mixed with actresses, models and influencers, including Shannon de Lima, Lele Pons, Gaby Espino and Elizabeth Gutierrez, as well as investors and executives from the travel and tourism industry
The event was sponsored by Banco Popular, Banco BHD, Banreservas and Grupo Puntacana, and closed out with an hour-long performance led by legendary Dominican artist Juan Luis Guerra.
