Miami, FL – July 28, 2024 -Florida’s population boom continues, setting new records and promising even more growth in the coming years.
As of April 1, 2024, Florida’s population surpassed 23 million residents for the first time, according to the state Demographic Estimating Conference. This marks a significant increase from last year’s estimate of 22,634,867, exceeding projections by 25,491 people. The report predicts that Florida will add an average of 319,109 net new residents annually until 2028, equating to roughly 874 new residents each day.
By 2031, Florida’s population is projected to exceed 25 million. The report highlights the scale of this growth, comparing it to adding a city slightly smaller than Orlando but larger than St. Petersburg every year.
This population surge underscores Florida’s continued appeal and poses both opportunities and challenges for the state’s infrastructure and services.
