Miami, FL – March 19, 2024 – Miami-Dade County experienced a remarkable surge in net international population growth in 2023, surpassing all other counties in the United States, as revealed by the latest Census data. The influx of new residents from abroad soared by nearly 40%, reaching a total of 54,457 individuals who chose Miami-Dade as their new home last year. This surge in international migration outpaced that of any other county in the nation. Remarkably, Miami-Dade County stood out not only for its international influx but also for its overall population growth. When factoring in domestic migration and natural changes, the Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach metropolitan area ranked tenth nationwide, adding 43,387 residents to its population. However, within Miami-Dade County itself, around 14,000 net residents were added, with international migration compensating for domestic out-migration.
