The Miami Association of Realtors, examining Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles data, reveals a noteworthy 15.9% increase in individuals exchanging out-of-state or overseas licenses for Floridian ones in 2023 compared to the previous year. Breaking it down, the statistics show a 1.2% rise in driver’s license exchanges for those relocating from other U.S. states and an impressive 24.2% increase for those moving from overseas. Notably, the data indicates a 21% overall increase in licenses exchanged by individuals relocating from other states compared to 2019, with significant migration spikes from New York (+41%), California (+56%), and New Jersey (+29%) in 2023 over 2019.
