Design Icon Barbara Hulanicki Celebrated on Miami Beach

Miami, FL – November 9, 2023 – Barbara Hulanicki, founder and designer of the iconic London fashion label BIBA, the world’s first fashion and lifestyle brand, in the sizzling 60s and 70s was recognized at an event held in her honor at The Betsy Hotel. Hulanicki was awarded the Key to The City of Miami Beach for her interior design contributions to the historic revitalization of South Beach in the 80s and 90s when she worked on several landmark hotels including The Marlin for Chris Blackwell and Craig Robins and The Cardozo for Gloria and Emilio Estefan. The editorial photos of Hulanicki’s color infused fantasy interiors circled the globe and sparked the interest of Europeans to come check out what was happening in Miami, forever changing the trajectory of South Beach.
