WRE News: Historic Miami Colonial Hotel Building to be Replaced by Supertall

Miami, FL – September 25, 2023 – There is an ambitious redevelopment project set to replace the Yve hotel Miami — site of the historic Miami Colonial Hotel — spearheaded by RFR Realty, a prominent New York developer known for its high-profile properties such as the Chrysler and Seagram buildings. The project aims to transform the site into a 104-story “supertall” hotel and residential tower. The project is expected to offer over 1,000 residential units and a hotel component, all situated atop a massive parking garage podium. Miami’s Zyscovich Architects, headquartered in the adjacent New World Tower, is in charge of the structure’s design. Several other “supertall” projects have been announced for the downtown and Brickell areas, further emphasizing the city’s transformation into a major international metropolis.
