Joseph Yonke
Miami, FL – July 29, 2023 – There was a lot Joseph Yonke observed about people and himself over the last few months. In his reflection, he considered how he and others interact with the people and general society they reside in. Hence his subject matter of interest solidified in portraits. He considered the complexities of the self and identity through those who have been a part of his life in some capacity, along with frequent introspection. He realized all people and their tendencies are dynamic, beautiful, and extremely complex, which is what he attempted to represent visually in this exhibition.
All in all, the artwork presented is comprised of portraits that represent a visual commentary on what it’s like to be a person today. The Joesph Yonke Solo Exhibition took place on July 29, 2023, at the 3,000-square-foot Wynwood Gallery of Lélia Mordoch.
