Frost Museum DNA Day at Frost Science

Miami, FL – April 29, 2023 – On Sunday, April 29, guests celebrated DNA Day in partnership with the University of Miami’s Hussman Institute for Human Genomics at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science in Downtown Miami. Throughout the day visitors heard from Hussman Institute for Human Genomics scientists about the role of DNA and medical research, explored modern day applications of DNA in medicine and technology, and explored future careers as geneticists. Guests also enjoyed engaging, hands-on activities where they created their own double helix, extracted DNA from strawberries, and used DNA to solve a mystery.
