WRE News: State Threatens to Revoke Hyatt Regency Miami’s Liquor License Over Drag Show

Miami, FL – March 22, 2023 – The State of Florida is moving to revoke the Hyatt Regency Miami’s liquor license, over an event hosted in December entitled “A Drag Queen Christmas”. The 17-page complaint was filed Tuesday by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation against the hotel’s venue, the James L. Knight Center. State regulars claim the admission policy for the event, which allowed minors only if accompanied by an adult, was too lenient. “We can confirm the hotel’s liquor license remains in effect and has not been revoked. We are reviewing this complaint and will address the situation directly with the state’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation as part of administrative review process.” Says a representative from the Hyatt Regency Miami.
