Q&A: Forte dei Marmi – Sopra Members Club

WRE: Tell us about Forte Dei Marmi

Andrea Reitano: Forte dei Marmi is an authentic Italian restaurant which has been a significant reality in Miami for 4 years. I am extremely proud of what Forte dei Marmi has grown to be in Miami, a reference point for Italian cuisine lovers, since we are committed to giving a genuine and real experience to our customers every day.

We import our raw materials from Italy on a daily basis, for every item, from the first to the last one, you can find on our menu, by continuously exalting seasonal and fresh products. Forte dei Marmi is an Italian embassy and a journey towards the authentic, traditional Italian cuisine here in Miami which nowadays represents the center of the USA.

WRE: When did you come up with the concept of a members club?

AR:  Opening a members club has always been a dream for mine … the idea has continuously been in my mind over the last years. After the success of Forte dei Marmi in Miami, I decided to take the initiative about one year ago and we are looking forward to welcoming all of our members, starting this Saturday.

WRE: What’s the inspiration behind the idea?

AR: The idea of bringing the culture of a members club in Miami has taken shape in my mind; the idea is to gather friends and people who have common interests in a private, super exclusive environment where people can meet up, get to know each other and share their common passions, accompanied by good music and great food as well, with the goal to discuss new projects and create new synergies for all the members.

WRE: What can people expect from the club? What do you want them to feel?

AR: I hope our members will be able to share the same ideas I had when I planned and created the concept of this club. Sopra will be a meeting point for people who love music, Italian food as well as a meeting point for prominent personalities and leading figures in their sectors, such as hospitality, finance, art, music and therefore, I expect the club members to be able to share common projects and synergies in a very exclusive lounge and a top-quality restaurant.

WRE: When is the members club opening?

AR: Sopra is a members club we are starting this Saturday. It will be a restaurant &  lounge open until 2 a.m. where it will be possible to find the senior dishes of Forte dei Marmi, including the fantastic Truffle Cacio e Pepe and Pistachio Ice-cream, but also new dishes we have gotten ready for our members.

WRE: How do you join the members club?

AR: It will be possible to apply for membership by completing a form at the restaurant or on our website portal. It will be a peculiarity of the club that there will only be 150 members and to become a member, it will be necessary for new applicants to already know at least two existing members and the membership board will have to approve their applications. There are quite a lot of applications at the moment and we are really happy since it means Miami proves to be a modern city, at the center of the American economic system and hospitality. The demand is really high, actually much higher than the available cards and we are therefore carefully deciding who our members will be so that everyone can join our principles, the ones this club has been built upon.
