Miami, FL – November 29, 2022 – On Tuesday, November 29, Locust Projects opened its last exhibitions in the Design District where it has been located since 2009. It has recently announced a milestone move to a warehouse in Little River that will double its size and expand opportunities to artists. True to the organization’s 24-year experimental nature, the final Design District shows push the boundaries of traditional art spaces, featuring everything from a gallery turned indoor-soccer field, to a living room for gatherings to pay homage to those who have passed.
More than 275 guests, including many past and future exhibiting artists and WaveMaker grantees, had the opportunity to be the first to see the shows over prosecco and rose by FederDoc Wine, brews by Unseen Creatures Brewing, and hydration by Liquid Death.
The exhibitions by Ecuador-born/New York City-based Ronny Quevedo and Miami-based artist T. Eliott Mansa, and Portals of Introspection, group exhibition guest curated by Donnamarie Baptsite featuring video works by Dimitry Saïd Chamy, Mikey Please, Duke Riley and Paul Ward, are on view Wed-Saturday 11am-5pm through February 5, 2023 at 3852 N. Miami Avenue. Visit locustprojects.org for more info.
