The Ellies, Miami’s Visual Arts Awards at the Bass Museum

Miami Beach, FL – October 26, 2022 – On Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022, Oolite Arts celebrated The Ellies, Miami’s Visual Arts Awards at the Bass Museum. A total of 45 artists and art teachers based in South Florida were awarded a portion of $500,000 in funding to bring a significant project to life. The highest honors went to Robert McKnight, who received the prestigious Michael Richards Award, and Rev. Houston R. Cypress, who was recognized with this year’s Social Justice Award. The Ellies, named in honor of Oolite Arts’ founder Ellie Schneiderman, were created to help artists elevate their careers and our cultural community.
