The Diabetes Research Institute Foundation Hosts Cocktails & Conversation at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine

Miami, FL – October 13, 2022 – On Thursday, October 13^th, The Diabetes Research Institute Foundation (DRIF) welcomed donors, board members, and friends for cocktails and conversation at the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI) at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. The evening included a tour of the DRI facility and laboratories, with welcome remarks by DRI Director, Camilo Ricordi, M.D. and DRI Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer, Khemraj Hirani Ph.D. Demonstrations on the breakthroughs in cure research for Type 1 diabetes were also given by Research Assistant Professor, Giacomo Lanzoni Ph.D., and Director of the Islet Immunoengineering Laboratory, Alice Tomei Ph.D.
