Miami, FL – October 11, 2022 – III Points, a Miami based music festival,  has teamed up with Black Coffee to curate the art and music at their own stage at this year’s III Points Festival. From large-scale murals and immersive exhibitions to live graffiti installations, III Points is a community of art and culture. This year’s collaboration marks the first of many that this stage will be present at the festival. Where there will be a wide range of sounds and with the help of Vince Fraser, the visuals will be Afrocentric psychedelic artwork.

World Red Eye sat down with David Sinopoli, where he gave us the inside scoop of the III Points collaboration with Black Coffee this year… Read the full Q&A below.

WRE: How has III Points evolved since its inception 9 years ago?

David Sinopoli: It’s grown, it’s become larger in size, but it’s involved with more local community. Composed of more stages, III Points has gained more popularity with a larger footprint throughout Wynwood: It now covers 4 city blocks.

WRE: How did this collaboration come about?

DS: Black Coffee started playing the Club about two years ago. His manager Cristiana and I were speaking about bringing him to III Points, Secret Project and a few other projects in Miami just to get him involved with what we were doing. Once we brought him on for those projects a couple times, Cristiana confirmed him to play at III Points with the idea that if it went really well, we would then be able to evolve the brand. Cristiana, Black Coffee, and the rest of the team then came up with a way to curate the stage by 2022 which has been in the works since last year when they fell in love with the festival and saw the vision.

Busta Rhymes

WRE: Could you talk to us about the lineup? a. How did you come up with it?

DS: Some of the names on the line-up for the stage are, Chloè Caillet, Moscoman, Jimi Jules, Busta Rhymes and Black Coffee closing out the stage.

WRE: What genre of music can audience members expect to hear at the Black Coffee stage?

DS: I think it’s going to be a wide range of Afro-house, dance music, hip-hop and everything in between.

Rüfüs Du Sol

WRE: How did you come up with this concept?

DS: Black Coffee is a very versatile artist that works with a variety of genres, so we wanted to make sure we had a wide range of sound, hence the dance music all the way up to Busta Rhymes. Cristiana, Black Coffee and I would go back and forth with artist suggestions, checking who was available and who wanted to play the stage. We both called in some favors and had to sell the idea, but it worked out.

WRE: Is this going to be a recurring stage in future festivals?

DS: Yeah, the idea is that this is going to be something that we build on, layer, and make more dynamic every year. My approach towards this is to keep it moving and keep it growing.

WRE: Could you walk us through the setup of the stage? What are the visuals like?

DS: Black Coffee is working with Vince Fraser, so the visuals are going to be kind of trippy/psychedelic artwork that’s very Afrocentric.

WRE: What can the audience expect from this stage?

DS: I think they can expect an immersive stage where the sound, visuals and curation all align, and they’ll be able to see it has been carefully and thoughtfully put together from A-Z.

WRE: Can you talk to us about the immersive art installations and different types of vendors that will be in attendance?

DS: We’ll be dropping an artist installation list early next week that I can share, but we have a lot of Miami’s finest putting together art installations throughout the festival that are both interactive and insane to look at when you’re in a space like a festival.

WRE: Which day + time is the Black Coffee stage open?

DS: It will be open on the second day of the festival which falls on a Saturday: October 22nd.
