Miami, FL – October 7, 2022 – On Friday, October 7th, All Hands and Hearts an organization committed to effectively and efficiently addressing the immediate and long-term needs of global communities impacted by natural disasters, along with Co-founder Petra Nemcova, Board Member Eric Gebaide, Chairperson Mike Pehl, and host and long time supporter Robert Curran, had a fundraiser to support the communities impacted by Hurricane Ian.

Hurricane Ian decimated the south-western coast of Florida. Homes were flooded to the second floor, buildings brought down to the ground as rubble, and bridges and roadways have been washed away. Over 80% of Floridians do not have flood insurance, meaning those who have access to FEMA funding will only receive a maximum of ≈ $35,000 – not enough to repair their homes, leaving swathes of underserved communities without the means to fully recover.

All Hands and Hearts will be focusing their efforts on underserved communities in hard-hit areas across Lee and Charlotte counties who have lost everything, are without insurance and would otherwise remain in a desperate situation. To accomplish this level of immediate and long-term relief through the mobilization of hundreds of local, national and international volunteers, they are looking to raise approximately $2 million.

Donations are greatly appreciated and will allow them to stay in the communities most affected supporting homeowners well into the recovery phase.
