Miami, FL – September 22, 2022 – On September 22, 2022, Museum of Graffiti the Grand Opening of a solo exhibition by Colombia- based artist Ledania. In her first solo exhibition at the Museum, Ledania presented Private Spaces – a site specific installation of magic realism where the bedroom exists as her personal inner sanctum filled with the bold color, personal details, and ideas not usually shared on the streets. Using canvas, objects, repurposed furniture, and photography, Ledania shares her graffiti origins and her fascination with plants, animals, and magic. Within the space, an armoire serves as an alter in the memory of friends, a vintage music player emits the sounds of tropical birds and rattling spray cans, and a bed transports us to a tropical, lush, and inclusive place where art serves as a respite from the harsh, noisy external reality outside.
The entire event was made possible by Hornitos Tequila, a spirit that believes we must take chances for a brighter future. Guest also enjoyed all the new flavors of Perrier as they enjoyed the show. The evening was packed with special surprises for guests such as plant station where guests could create their own complimentary succulent arrangement courtesy of Keeks Corner or take home a rare plant native to Colombia from Plant the Jungle. For sale were one-of-a-kind, custom painted vintage t-shirts from Out of The Closet, a thrift store founded in 1990 to help raise funds and awareness for AIDS Healthcare Foundation.
