Miami Beach, FL – January 29, 2022 – On Saturday, January 29, 2022, ICA Miami presented the Adam Weinert Dancers in Dance of the Ages, a recreation of a seminal 1938 ensemble work and tea ceremony by the all-male ensemble group Ted Shawn and His Men Dancers. This program, which was first presented at ICA Miami, marked the inaugural commission by the museum’s Culture Club membership group supporting LGBTQIA+ representation in the arts. The outdoor sunset performance took place at a private residence and marked the first instance of the work performed for a dedicated LGBTQIA+ audience. Major support for Dance of the Ages was provided by an anonymous donor and Ray Ellen and Allan Yarkin. Additional support for Culture Club at ICA Miami was provided by Merrill Lynch. In 2021, choreographer and dancer Adam Weinert was awarded a Knights Art Challenge grant to support his residency in Miami.
