Miami Beach, FL – September 16, 2021 – Locust Projects‘ Splash! Party at Soho Beach House celebrated the 2021 WaveMakers who received grants for publicly accessible, community-driven projects across Miami-Dade, supported by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts’ Regional Regranting Program.
Guests were ushered in with the eclectic musical stylings of Miami’s own celebrity DJ Kumi and welcomed with the evening’s signature cocktail, carefully created by Andean Agave sponsor and past WaveMaker grantee, Evan Marcus of CHAWAR and some artistically crafted brews sponsored by Tripping Animals Brewing.
WaveMaker grantees and guests received the coveted limited edition 2021 WaveMaker SPLASH! Towel designed by artist and former WaveMaker grantee, Najja Moon. WaveMaker grants extend Locust Projects’ mission into the community through publicly accessible projects that respond and reflect upon issues and ideas relevant to our community. Congratulations to the 2021 WaveMakers: Carolina Cueva, Liz Ferrer & Bow Ty, Violenta Flores / Juan Carlos Zaldivar, Sage Gee, Nick Gilmore, Amanda Keeley, Summer Jade Leavitt, Dan Mathis, Arsimmer McCoy, Michelle Lisa Polissaint, Chire Regans, and Ema Ri.
