Joseph Phelps Vineyards presents Blending Napa Valley’s Iconic Insignia, Wine Spectator Wine Seminar presented by Carr’s Crackers at Eden Roc Miami Beach

Miami Beach, FL – May 22, 2021 – In 1974, vintner Joe Phelps had the idea to make a separate cuvée each year, one that would represent the finest wine he could make from each vintage. With Insignia, he created California’s first proprietary red Bordeaux-style blend. Over forty-five years later, Insignia is recognized as one of the world’s most iconic wines.

SOBEWFF guests joined Bill Phelps for “Blending Napa Valley’s Iconic Insignia” to play winemaker for a day, as they tasted components of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Cabernet Franc from six of the winery’s Napa Valley estate vineyards and crafted their own version of Insignia. Guests compared and contrasted their blend with the 2017 Joseph Phelps Insignia as they learned their own wine blending preferences.
