Miami, FL – May 20, 2021 – The #MiamiTech scene was alive and well in Coconut Grove, as Miami-founded and based Fuel Venture Capital welcomed founders, investors, and celebs to its new headquarters to celebrate Fuel VC Managing General Partner and Chief Investment Officer Maggie Vo’s South Florida Business & Wealth magazine cover and profile.
Guests included DJ Irie, Moishe Mana, Jencarlos Canela, IDC Ventures managing director Bobby Aitkenhead, 54D’s Omar Yunes and The Tag Experience’s Jared Shapiro, who commemorated alongside Fuel Venture Capital’s Jeff Ransdell, and South Florida Business & Wealth publisher Gary Press and editor-in-chief Drew Limsky.
The party served Voli vodka, Candela Mamajuana rum and included morning-after recovery drinks for all guests by HALO, while Fuel VC portfolio company Soundtrack Your Brand provided the tunes, alongside saxophone player Alejandro Sierra. Overseas guests, including Soundtrack Your Brand CEO and Beats co-founder Ola Sars, joined the soirée virtually with the help of avatar robots by OhmniLabs, also a Fuel VC portfolio company.
Guests marveled at the limited edition Tony Kelly and Florian Eymann pieces that lined the three floors of the “Fuel Station,” home to the fund, as well as venture-backed tech startups Taxfyle and Bolt Mobility, tech and lifestyle communications agency The Tag Experience, SMGQ Law, IDC Ventures and Maquia Capital.
Fuel Venture Capital, founded in Miami in 2017, is one of the southeastern United States’ most active firms, and among the biggest investors in the South Florida’s startup community, with more than $50 million deployed to local companies since the fund’s inception. Across the globe, Fuel Venture Capital has 25 portfolio companies, including unicorn Tradeshift. Its CEO Christian Lanng attended the bash, as well as Taxfyle co-founder Michael Mouriz, Eyrus CEO Alexandra McManus, Bolt CEO Ignacio Tzoumas, SoStereo CEO Salo Sterental, and CEO Ian Aaron of Ubicquia.
Among more notables spotted at the party: David Packouz, depicted in the Miles Teller feature film “War Dogs”; Miami chef and restaurateur Chef Bee; Plus 8’s Rishi Patel and Patrick Woloveck who recently moved their music tech focused VC fund from NY to Miami, Guy Kurlandski from the Israeli based Liquidity, Gareth Evans of Rose Capital, Senior Executive Alvin Spencer from Stifel Financial, and Brett Thelander from Rockefeller Capital Management.
