Miami, FL – May 21, 2021 – One may recognize celebrity Chef Enrique Olvera from his appearance on Netflix’s Chef’s Table or for being the mastermind behind Cosme in New York City, NY and Pujol in Mexico City, ranked 12 on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list (2019). Known for colorful dishes that pay homage to his birthplace of Mexico City, Olvera packs a punch of elevated Mexican flavor in all of his creations. Diego Oka is Executive Chef at the helm of La Mar by Gastón Acurio, who joined SOBEWFF this year.

Born and raised in Lima, Peru, Oka has first-hand experience of growing up in one of the world’s most exciting culinary destinations. With influences including his grandmother’s cooking, his Japanese-Peruvian heritage and the foods he discovered whilst living in Mexico and Colombia, Oka has brought a unique and innovative talent to his kitchen at La Mar. Together, Olvera and Oka melded their Peruvian and Mexican flavors and executed a menu inspired by their mutual expertise and love for all things food. Set against the contemporary backdrop of La Mar by Gastón Acurio at the Mandarin Oriental, guests relished in the view of the city’s sparkling skyline across Biscayne Bay.
