With the truly unprecedented events unfolding around us involving COVID-19, Bonnet House Museum & Gardens, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, is presenting a virtual visit to the museum.

The estate was built along Fort Lauderdale Beach in 1920 as the winter retreat of the Birch/Bartlett family, and is a delightful blend of art, architecture, history and ecology.

Visitors to Bonnet House, which is a part of the Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment District, have previously been greeted with a vintage video in the Carl Weinhardt Gallery that provides a broad history of the property and a visit to the second floor. That video is actually a part of a much longer production that takes viewers through the first floor and presents a greater oral history by Evelyn Bartlett and Irene Hart. It also contains extended clips from the Bartletts’ home movies.

The viewer can now enjoy the four-part virtual tour here: https://www.bonnethouse.org/a-virtual-and-vintage-tour-of-bonnet-house/
