Faena Rose Hosts Joe Brown for Exclusive Conversation & Dinner
Miami Beach, FL – December 17, 2019 – The editor in chief of Popular Science magazine, Joe Brown, joined Faena Rose members for an invigorating conversation about the future of artificial intelligence. Sean McManus, the co-founder of M+D and former New York Times contributor, moderated the conversation and shared insight on the way AI will revolutionize the way we work, live, and communicate.
Though Amazon’s Alexa and Apple’s Siri have proven to make everyday life simpler, Joe shared that these AI’s are “narrow” and can only handle one particular task (i.e. “Alexa, what’s the weather today?”). The race to “General AI” is where the real action lies with companies like Google investing hundreds of millions of dollars every year. In the future, these systems will possess cognitive thinking abilities that mimic human thinking. He humbly stated that AI may put his career as a journalist at risk as bots will lead the future of verified information, which in some situations may be a positive outcome. After the conversation members enjoyed an intimate dinner in the Faena Forum.
