Agustina Woodgate

Miami, FL – September 10, 2019 – Faena Rose members enjoyed a private studio visit and conversation with celebrated artist, Agustina Woodgate, in her downtown Miami studio. Throughout the evening, Agustina expanded on the themes of temporality, power hierarchies, and the division of labor, which permeate her work, and how she executes her ideas through her sanded globes & world maps, glass sculptures, public works, and multi-disciplinary projects. Born in Buenos Aires and based in Miami, Agustina is included in this year’s Whitney Biennial, where her large-scale installation, National Times, has been a highlight of the exhibition. The award-winning artist also discussed her current project in collaboration with O, Miami and Miami-Dade County’s Department of Transportation and Public Works, in which Agustina is embedding large-scale poems into sidewalks as they are repaired throughout the city, as well as her other upcoming exhibitions.

Faena Rose is an exclusive, art and culture-based private members club at the Faena District Miami Beach, which brings together its dynamic community of likeminded individuals through a robust, year-round calendar of the most engaging and transformative cultural experiences.
