Miami, FL – March 7, 2019 – Faena Rose members joined celebrated artist, Gonzalo Fuenmayor, for an intimate studio visit, where he discussed how themes of tropicalia, opulence, and the hybridization of cultural influences across the Americas are expressed in his hyper-realistic charcoal paintings. At Gonzalo’s private studio in Wynwood, he discussed his new body of work, Empire, soon to open at the Dolby Chadwick Gallery in San Francisco and also shared a behind the scenes look at his unique process. The recipient of numerous accolades, Gonzalo created a specially-commissioned series of prints and photographs for all of the guest rooms at Faena Hotel Miami Beach, was showcased in the Florida Prize 2018 at the Orlando Museum of Art, and is currently a resident artist at ArtCenter South Florida. Faena Rose is an exclusive, art and culture-based private members club at the Faena District Miami Beach, which brings together its dynamic community of likeminded individuals through a robust, year-round calendar of the most engaging and transformative cultural experiences.
