A Night Devoted to Jazz & Educating the Next Generation
Miami, FL – November 30, 2018 – Adrienne Arsht Center Board Member Karen Fryd and her husband, Jonathan Fryd, opened their historic home in Miami Beach to supporters of the Arsht Center’s Jazz Roots concert series and Sound Check education program, which delivers behind-the-scenes access to the world’s top jazz artists to more than 800 Miami-Dade County public high school students every year. A jazz ensemble of students from Robert Morgan Educational Center and pianist Glenda del E entertained the crowd, which included Eric and Donna Johnson of leading Jazz Roots supporter Baldwin Richardson Foods; Arsht Center Board Chairman Ira Hall and his wife, Carole; University of Miami Frost School of Music Dean Shelly Berg and his wife, Julia; Hazel Rosen, wife of Jazz Roots producer Larry Rosen; Arsht Center Trust and Foundation board members Pierre Apollon, Andrea Guerreri and Lucille Zanghi, and Arsht Center President and CEO John Richard, among others.
