Damask Love & JOANN Host Viewing Celebration for NBC’s “Making It” at the Miami Ad School

Miami Beach, FL – July 31, 2018 – Miami’s resident DIY blogger and craft genius Amber Kemp-Gerstel of Damask Love hosted a late night viewing party to celebrate her coveted spot as one of 8 “makers” across the country to compete in a crafting competition on NBC’s new primetime TV show “Making It” hosted by Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman. The special event took place at the Miami Ad School, and guests will have the opportunity to watch “the premiere episode of “Making It” live alongside Amber. In partnership with JOANN, the viewing party will include complimentry complimentary “maker” stations featuring a variety of crafts inspired by the show. From personalized denim aprons to foiled wall art, guests will assume the role of “maker” with the help of Amber and America’s leading specialty retailer of crafts and fabrics. Additionally, guests enjoyed DIY-friendly desserts including a Let’s Get It Poppin’ popcorn bar with a sweet and salty selection of trail-mix additions, a Bunnie Cakes build-your-own cupcake bar with custom toppings, DIY candy kabobs by Trolli and refreshments by Harmless Harvest, while they sat back and watched the show. Guests even partook in an “Instagrammable” moment, courtesy of an installation featuring a collection of oversized crafting supplies. Before the episode began, Amber got on stage to thank her family, friends and fans for their love and support during this journey. She was then presented with a one-of-a-kind, limited edition bedazzled shopping cart on behalf of JOANN. To top of the evening, all guests were gifted with a JOANN swag bag filled with Amber’s favorite crafting items, all of which are available at JOANN stores.
