YoungArts Hosts In Process: Homecoming with Cat Garcia-Menocal & Amanda Krische at Brickell City Centre

Miami, FL – June 9, 2018 – The National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts), in partnership with Swire Properties, presented the final edition of In Process: Homecoming of the season at Brickell City Centre. YoungArts President and CEO Carolina García Jayaram and Debora Overholt, VP of Retail Leasing at Swire Properties welcomed guests to an evening of visual and performing arts. Shining light on Miami as a unique place where artists feel deeply connected to their experience, YoungArts invited alumnae Cat Garcia-Menocal (2008 YoungArts Winner in Visual Arts) — a Miami native — and Amanda Krische (2012 YoungArts Winner in Dance & U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts) for a weeklong collaborative residency. The experimental result was “Ficciones,” a work challenging notions of place and the politics of truth through architecture, sculpture, dance and interpretation of space. Guests including Arquitectonica’s Jacob Lenard, Mariolga Calderon and Regina Lacayo of Swire Properties, Ashley Baros-Kabler of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, and YoungArts alumni Justine Garcia (2016 YoungArts Winner in Jazz) and Randy de la Cruz (2012 YoungArts Winner in Visual Arts) mingled, and enjoyed mojitos by Puntacana Ron Muy Viejo and tasty delights MG Events.
