Carolina García Jayaram & Michelle Weinberg

Miami, FL – May 29, 2018 – The National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) in partnership with Aimco hosted an intimate conversation between YoungArts President and CEO Carolina García Jayaram and artist Michelle Weinberg at Bay Parc Miami. YoungArts members, Bay Parc residents and community guests mingled over wine and hors d’oeuvres before receiving a warm welcome from Bay Parc Community Manager Patrick McGarry. Surrounded by Weinberg’s current architectural art installation “Four Storefronts,” conceived as a vivid backdrop for human activity, the conversation between the artist and García Jayaram focused on the importance of public art for local engagement and placemaking, opportunities for young artists, the art program at Bay Parc, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The next exhibition slated for Bay Parc’s dedicated space will be activated by YoungArts alumni in Visual Arts, who will install and show their work as part of a two year-partnership between Aimco and the foundation.
