Flamenco Festival Miami 2018 Opening Night Celebration at Adrienne Arsht Center
Miami, FL – March 8, 2018 – Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County celebrated the anticipated opening night of its 11th annual Flamenco Festival Miami. Known as the biggest festival of flamenco dance and music in the Southeast, the Center’s Flamenco Festival Miami 2018 kicked off with the world’s greatest exponent of Spanish dance – Ballet Nacional de España. Nearly 1,500 fans packed the Center’s John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall including VIPs and celebrities such as Elvis Crespo, Grammy Award-winning artist; Erika Ender, singer-songwriter known for writing “Despacito;” Domino Saints, Urban Latino duo; Antonio Najarro; director of Ballet Nacional de España; Inma Salomon; principal dancer for Ballet Nacional de España; Sergio Bernal; principal dancer for Ballet Nacional de España; Nicola “Colate” Vallejo-Nagera, Univision host; Enrique Bermudez de la Serna, soccer legend and Univision sports anchor; Borja Voces, co-host of “Primer Impacto;” Felicidad Aveleyda, “Telemundo Noticias” anchor; Carolina Rosario, “Primer Impacto” correspondent; Arthur Hanlon, pianist and recording artist; Tanya Charry, co-host of “El Gordo y La Flaca;” Vanessa Cruz, artist; Wendy Regalado, TV host and actress; Alix Aspe, Emmy Award-winning Telemundo host; Armando Olmedo, Arsht Center board member; John Richard, president and CEO of the Arsht Center; and more. Flamenco Festival Miami 2018 continued through March 11 with additional performances by Ballet Nacional de España and Andalusian Voices. And just announced! After selling out 4 performances during Flamenco Festival Miami 2015, the incomparable Sara Baras—direct from Spain—makes her return to the Arsht Center as the star of the Center’s 12th annual Flamenco Festival Miami.
