Miami, FL – January 16, 2018 – Over 400 fashion-forward guests attended the 7th Annual Splendor in the Garden held at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. The event was presented by Neiman Marcus Coral Gables, Mercedes-Benz of Coral Gables, and Mercedes-Benz of Cutler Bay. The 2018 Philanthropy Honorees were Lesli Brown, Renee Lopez Cantera, Orianne Collins, Mari Grimalt, Carol Iacovelli, Lilliam Machado, and Amanda Rodriguez. The event was co-chaired Swanee DiMare and Frances Sevilla-Sacasa and MC’d by Local 10 news anchors, Laurie Jennings, and Louis Aguire. Stephen Brunelle, VP and General Manager of Neiman Marcus Coral Gables, introduced Ken Downing, Senior VP and Fashion Director of Neiman Marcus, who took the stage to much applause and mentioned how he loves returning to Fairchild every year because the Miami ladies were the warmest and most welcoming crowd he has ever met. Downing presented the highly anticipated Spring 2018 fashion show featuring lace, tulle and bright colors, adding “this is a show about confidence, about pretty, about celebrating all kinds and types of women.” There were mixed prints and bold colors – including Downing’s two favorite color combinations, yellow and pink. Models strutted the catwalk in make-up by Dior Cosmetics. Guests enjoyed a seated lakeside lunch catered by Le Basque. Media support for the event included The Scout Guide, MIAMI magazine and Selecta Magazine.
