LATE@Frost Science: SEEING 003 – Waves
Miami, FL – August 9, 2017 – Over 400 guests packed the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science for LATE@Frost Science, an after-hours series that takes a deeper look at the scientific wonders within the museum’s special exhibitions. Guests mingled with cocktail glasses and popchips in hand as they dove deeper into the museum’s SEEING: WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT? exhibition through the evening’s topic: “Waves,” an exploration of sound waves and echolocation. Dr. Kelley Winship, Research Associate & Marine Mammal Trainer at Dolphins Plus Oceanside, and Frank Ridgley, Direction of Conservation & Research at Zoo Miami, delivered creative talks underneath the Gulf Stream Exhibit Oculus, while guests experienced several activations, including “Visualizing Sound” by Moonlighter Makerspace, a photobooth by YP Photo Booth, For Your Eyes by Bridges Aderhold, live bat monitoring with the Miami Bat Squad, the VR Echo Earth Experience, and Sea Sounds with RSMAS. Lolo (Sweat Records) kept the evening flowing with sounds in the MeLab along with complimentary cocktails by Atlantico Rum. SEEING: WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT? at Frost Science has been made possible with generous support by Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, part of the University of Miami Health System.
