Miami Beach, FL – July 13, 2017 – The Executive Director of the Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU, Susan Galdstone, welcomed hundreds to the opening reception for the new summer pop-up show “Irene Williams: Queen of Lincoln Road.” The filmmaker Eric Smith presented his film about Irene Williams – a beloved South Beach icon – to a standing-room-only audience that included: Kenneth Bloom, Ira Giller, Richard Jay Alexander, Daniel and Merle Weiss, Pauline Winick, Isabel Anderson, Charles Greenfield, Harvey Burstein, Tom Austin, George Neary, Herb Sosa, Jenni Person, and Carol Coombes. The nostalgic exhibition celebrates the spirit of individualism and creativity that defined South Beach’s renaissance, and the memorable, colorful characters like the late Irene Williams who was beloved and fondly remembered.
