Miami Beach, FL – June 25, 2017 – No one throws a beach party quite like the City of Miami Beach, and Mayor Philip Levine proudly welcomed the United States Conference of Mayors to Miami’s own little slice of paradise on the sands for this very special evening. Generously sponsored by the Carnival Corporation and CEO Arnold Donald, the event featured a spectacular performance by hometown hero and disco legend, KC and the Sunshine Band. Kicking off the event with Miami’s greatest, DJ Irie, the beach party featured giant sand sculptures, a scrumptious paella, and specialty drinks courtesy of Southern and Glazer’s. William Talbert, CEO of the GMCVB, donned a feather boa for spirited opening remarks, joined by Miami Gardens Mayor Oliver Gilbert who opened the evening with his own inimitable dance moves. The many mayors and esteemed elected officials in attendance enjoyed a terrific boogie night.
