Miami, FL – January 25, 2017 – Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) welcomed more than 150 museum directors and art leaders from across North America to an exclusive dinner for The Association of Art Museum Directors (AAMD), which is in convening in Miami for its mid-winter meeting. With South Florida’s exciting and evolving art scene, it is an honor that Miami was chosen as a host city and that PAMM was chosen as one of the host museums. “Alongside our dear colleagues at The Bass, Silvia Karman Cubiñá, and the Lowe Art Museum, Jill Deupi, we are honored to co-host the 2017 Mid-Winter meeting of the AAMD. We are happy that the dynamism of this great city, and in particular its relationship to museums, art and culture, is being highlighted,” said PAMM Director Franklin Sirmans. Influencers from Art Institute of Chicago, Brooklyn Museum, J. Paul Getty Museum, Museo Nacional de Arte, Museum of Modern Art, and Studio Museum in Harlem, to name a few, enjoyed a picturesque night on the terrace overlooking Biscayne Bay, complete with live entertainment and salsa dancing under the stars. The Association of Art Museum Directors advances the profession by cultivating leadership capabilities of directors, advocating for the field, and fostering excellence in art museums. An agile, issues-driven organization, AAMD fosters engagement, leadership, and shared learning.
