Indego Africa Miami Regional Board Fundraiser
Miami, FL – November 9, 2016 – The Miami Regional Board of Indego Africa hosted the organization’s first Miami fundraiser at the beautiful home of gallerist, curator and artist Carol Jazzar. Indego Africa is a nonprofit social enterprise and design company with a mission to female artisans in Africa by becoming empowered businesswomen and by uplifting entire communities. The event raised donations for the organizations education programming for youth, adults, and refugees in Rwanda and Ghana, including technology training, business training, vocational training, and advanced leadership. DJ Kumi’s selection of music perfectly underscored this philanthropic evening as guests picked out handwoven baskets in the pop up-shop, mingled in the garden, and enjoyed delicious bites by Macchialina’s, specialty cocktails by Marlee’s Green Tea Whiskey and a selection of wine provided by Vineyard Brands.
Notable attendees included, amongst others, Miami Regional Board Chair Heike Dempster and husband Robert Dempster, board member and Director of Public Relations and Marketing at the National YoungArts Foundation Dejha Carrington, artists Jill Weisberg, Brian Gefen and Jose Felix Perez, Pérez Art Museum Miami Education Director Adrienne Chadwick, jewelry designer Aja Butler-Burns, gallerist Danelle Pino and philanthropist Tracey Robertson-Carter.
