Art in Theory: YoungArts Collaborates with Theory on Limited Edition T-Shirt
Miami, FL – November 15, 2016 – The National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) celebrated creativity and a limited edition t-shirt collaboration with Theory with an in-store event at Theory’s flagship store in the Miami Design District. Attended by YoungArts supporters, Theory customers, and invited guests, the event featured Theory’s fall/winter men’s and women’s collections as well as a live art installation by YoungArts Visual Arts alumna Marlena Fleck, who designed the shirt inspired by the Theory fall/winter 2016 color palette and based on one of the artist’s paintings. Guests mingled surrounded by Theory’s new collection, and enjoyed champagne, art and of course some holiday shopping. The YoungArts x Theory shirt will be available exclusively in the brand’s flagship store throughout Miami Art Week/ Art Basel Miami Beach and 100% of proceeds are donated to YoungArts. As a founding corporate partner of YoungArts and supporter of the arts, Theory aims to highlight the arts during art season in Miami and beyond by creating a piece of wearable art that will continue to add an extra artistic touch to any fashionista’s wardrobe. Marlena Fleck will be highlighted alongside nine fellow alumni and her paintings will be available in the YoungArts booth (P6) at PULSE Miami Beach Contemporary Art Fair. YoungArts will for the first time participate in the fair marketplace with the exhibition “Body + Place,” co-curated by Naomi Fisher (1994 YoungArts Winner in Visual Art) and YoungArts Artistic Programs Coordinator Luisa Munera.
