Estrella Damm Gastronomy Congress “The Challenge of Contemporary Cuisine”
Miami, FL – September 26, 2016 – More than 500 people gathered at the Miami Culinary Institute, as Estrella Damm presented the second US Gastronomy Congress, “The Challenge of Contemporary Cuisine.” The event featured the world’s most awarded chef and winner of ‘Chef of the Decade’ in 2010 Ferran Adrià, alongside an all-star lineup of international chefs that presented a live cooking demonstration onstage. Culinary figures included Jorge Muñoz, head chef at Michelin starred Nikkei restaurant Pakta, part of Albert Adrià’s notorious elBarri Group in Barcelona; Aaron Mulliss, head chef at The Hand and Flowers, the first Gastropub to receive two stars in The Michelin Guide, and holder of four AA rosettes; Nick Beardshaw, head chef at The Coach, Tom’s Kerridge’s second venture, holding Michelin Bib Gourmand, three AA Rosettes and voted no. 3 Gastropub in the UK; and local James Beard award winning chef, Michelle Bernstein, who lead the engaging discussion. The night began with a tasting by some of Miami’s best restaurants, perfectly paired with Estrella Damm beer. Guests savored bites by local chefs including Miguel Aguilar of Wynwood Kitchen & Bar, Diego Muñoz of 1111 Peruvian Bistro, Eileen Andrade of Finka Table & Tap, Jimmy Carey of Jimmy’z Kitchen and Victor Santos of Tuyo at the Culinary Institute.
