Debris Free Ocean “Eco-Fashion Show” at The 1 Rooftop
Miami Beach, FL – September 24, 2016 – Taking an eco-conscious spin on style, 1 Hotel & Homes South Beach proudly hosted the second annual Debris Free Ocean “Eco-Fashion Show.” With featured collections from designers Riz Board Shorts, Mia Marcelle, Waterlust, Koru Swimwear, Sea Lily, Inti Totes, Born Again Vintage, Volcom, Kozm, Planet Love Life, Nomad Tribe, Sand Cloud and Bureo, the non-profit event took place 18-stories above the Atlantic’s breaking waves on The 1 Rooftop. In an effort to not only entertain but positively educate, the inspirational show also taught the public how to live more of a zero waste lifestyle and encouraged an end to marine debris. As musical stylings from DJ L.I.P and Natural Selection played throughout the sun-bathed afternoon, attendees indulged in healthy cocktails provided by watr, the hotel’s newly opened restaurant and stimulated their senses with an interactive art installation from Beneath The Waves, henna art by Naza Henna, various educational booths and a silent auction. Founded in 2014, Debris Free Oceans is a Miami-based, non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire local communities to responsibly manage the life-cycle of plastics and waste as part of a global initiative to eradicate marine debris from beaches, reefs and oceans. 1 Hotel & Homes South Beach proudly welcomed the event, furthering their local commitment to raising awareness around sustainable and environmentally-friendly practices to benefit nature.
