Basel, Switzerland – June 14, 2016 – Design Miami/ Basel 2016 opened up to the public with another show-stopping year. 46 of the world’s leading design galleries specializing in collectible design came together to participate in the eleventh edition of Design Miami/ Basel. This year’s show presents an incredibly focused program, with a number of solo exhibitions. The Gallery Program is supported by the second edition of Design Curio in Basel, the Design at Large initiative returns curated by Martina Mondadori Sartogo and exhibitions commissioned by Swarovski for this year’s Swarovski Designers of the Future Award which was unveiled at the fair. Design Miami/ also celebrated the work of the late Zaha Hadid with an exhibition which plays with the dichotomy between the fluidity of the Liquid Glacial Collection and the solidity of the Marble Collection for Citco as well as the Mew table for Sawaya Moroni.
