Jazz Roots: Cool Velvet Post Reception at Arsht Center

Miami, FL – April 8, 2016 – Vanessa Willams gave a stellar performance at Jazz Roots: Cool Velvet concert at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County. Williams lead her acclaimed seven-piece ensemble which has toured the world with her. Grammy winner Christian McBride and his renowned trio featuring pianist Christian Sands and drummer Jerome Jennings opened the show. Jazz Roots has been credited with revitalizing America’s art form in Miami, making it a jazz capital of the world. More than 70,000 people have attended the annual six-part concert and educational series, which has also benefited more than 7,000 high school jazz music students who have participated in the JAZZ ROOTS: Sound Check educational program.
